Agri-PV Project in Lenningen: A new milestone for agriculture and renewable energy

How can renewable electricity be generated while continuing to farm the land? The Agri-PV project in Lenningen provides a practical answer to this question.

Developed in partnership with Bio-Haff Lentz, the project has now reached an important milestone with its first wheat harvest. It clearly demonstrates that agricultural production and renewable energy generation can successfully coexist on the same piece of land.
Through our video, discover how agriculture and the energy transition go hand in hand in the fields of Lenningen.

An innovative solution for agriculture and the energy transition

Commissioned in 2025, the Agri-PV project in Lenningen features vertically mounted bifacial photovoltaic panels. These panels generate electricity on both sides while leaving enough space for agricultural activities to continue uninterrupted.

This allows Bio-Haff Lentz to cultivate its land as usual while renewable electricity is generated between the rows of solar panels. This first wheat harvest perfectly illustrates how the two activities complement one another.

Two harvests from one field

The Agri-PV project in Lenningen demonstrates that the same land can serve two purposes: agricultural production and renewable energy generation.

With an installed capacity of 1,450 kWp and an estimated annual production of around 1.5 GWh, the project makes an important contribution to local renewable energy production.

Renewable energy in everyday life

Through this video report, we offer a different perspective on projects in operation, showcasing renewable energy where it truly makes a difference: in everyday life.

The images tell the story of the project: the daily work of Bio-Haff Lentz, the harvest, the machinery in action and the successful integration of agriculture and photovoltaics.
