State aids with the Resilienzpak 2026 : what’s changing for your energy bill

Support for natural gas

Eligible customers will receive a subsidy of €0.15 (including VAT) per Nm³ of natural gas consumed.

This measure applies from 1 August to 31 December 2026 to customers with a meter whose maximum hourly flow rate is below 65 m³/h.

As a guide, this support represents savings of approximately:

• €60 over five months for an apartment consuming 1,000 m³ per year;
• €150 over five months for a single-family home consuming 2,500 m³ per year.

The actual amount will naturally depend on your consumption.

Enhanced support for electricity

Households consuming less than 25,000 kWh per year (Category A) will also benefit from new support of €0.04 per kWh, including VAT.

This measure is in addition to the support already in place, including:

• the government’s contribution towards grid costs;
• coverage of the compensation mechanism.

In total, for the period from 1 August to 31 December 2026, government support amounts to approximately 11.3 cents per kWh, including VAT, for eligible households.

Depending on your consumption, this new support represents estimated savings of:

• €70 over five months for an apartment consuming 1,500 kWh per year;
• €180 for an average household consuming 3,900 kWh per year;
• €465 for a household with an electric car and heat pump consuming 10,000 kWh per year.

Please note that this subsidy applies only to Category A customers (annual consumption of no more than 25,000 kWh). If you switch to Category B during the year, the subsidy will no longer apply.

How will the new aids appear on your bill?

This new support will be applied automatically and will appear on your bill as a separate line item (shown as a negative amount), reducing the total amount due.

For gas, this aid will appear under the section: “Remise – Prise en charge réseau”.

For electricity, this aid will appear under the section “Taxes réglementées – Mécanisme de compensation – A”.

When the aid appears will depend on your billing method:

• If you are billed based on your actual consumption (PAYG), the support will appear on your September 2026 bill, covering your consumption in August 2026.
• If you are billed through advance payments, the support will be calculated based on your actual consumption during the relevant period and will appear on your annual regularization statement. Your payment plan may be adjusted automatically so that the subsidy is reflected directly in your instalment amounts.

In summary:

✔ No action is required.

✔ The new support will be applied automatically if you are eligible (Category A customer based on annual consumption). If you switch to Category B during the year, the subsidy will not apply.

✔ It applies to energy consumed between 1 August and 31 December 2026.

✔ It will be clearly shown on your energy bill as a separate line item (a negative amount).
