Payconiq is becoming Wero: What you need to know

Payconiq is gradually making way for Wero, the new European payment solution. Do you usually use the Payconiq QR code to pay your energy bills? Here is what is changing – and what you need to do.

Until 30 September 2026: Payconiq and Wero both work

During this initial phase, you can still scan the QR code on your Enovos bill:

  • with the Payconiq app, as before; or
  • with the new Wero app, if you have already set it up.

Payconiq will stop working after 30 September.

From 1 October to 31 December 2026: Use Wero

From 1 October 2026, the Payconiq app will no longer be available.

You will therefore need to use the Wero app for all QR code payments.

However, the Payconiq QR codes shown on your energy bills will remain valid until the end of the year. Simply scan them directly from the Wero app to make your payment.

From 1 January 2027: Only Wero QR codes will work

From 1 January 2027, bills that can be paid by QR code will feature a Wero QR code, which you can scan using the Wero app.

If you need to pay an older bill that still features a Payconiq QR code after this date, you can make a bank transfer using the bank details and payment reference indicated on the bill.

How do I start using Wero?

Once Wero is available through your bank:

  1. Download the Wero app from the App Store or Google Play.
  2. Open the app and follow the instructions.
  3. Link your bank account.
  4. Scan the QR code on your bill directly from the Wero app.
  5. Check the information displayed and confirm the payment.

Your bank may also contact you directly with information on how to make the transition.

Your bank does not offer Wero yet?

Not all banks are making the transition at the same time. If Wero is not yet available through your bank, you can pay your bills by bank transfer. Simply use the bank details and payment reference indicated on your bill until your bank begins offering Wero.

Other payment methods remain unchanged

This change only affects payments made by QR code. If you pay your bills by direct debit or bank transfer, you do not need to take any action.

Take this opportunity to switch to direct debit!

Would you prefer not to make your payments manually? Choose SEPA Direct Debit and your bills will be paid automatically when they fall due. You can also opt for PAYG to receive a monthly bill based on your actual consumption, with the amount collected automatically. Both options can be activated easily through your MyEnovos customer portal.
